Dr Jack Jeffries is a consultant rheumatologist at Brisbane Rheumatology. He completed his medical degree at University College Cork, Ireland in 2016 before relocating to sunny Queensland.
He undertook physician training at the Mater Hospital and Hervey Bay, before completing advanced training in rheumatology across Gold Coast University Hospital, the Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital, Caboolture Hospital and Mater Hospital Brisbane.
Jack manages a broad range of rheumatological conditions, with particular interests in gout, rheumatoid arthritis and giant cell arteritis, the latter being an area in which he has presented research.
He has a strong interest in education and completed a year as Chief Medical Registrar at the Mater Hospital. He has also been involved in the local organisation of examinations for the Royal Australasian College of Physicians and is an active member of the Australian Rheumatology Association.
Jack believes that empowering patients through education and shared decision making is key to effective care.
Outside of work, Jack enjoys running, playing tennis, and spoiling his dog, Daphne.
