Dr Lisa Cummins is a Consultant Rheumatologist and the Clinical Director of Rheumatology at Mater Hospital Brisbane.
Dr Cummins is passionate about providing safe, effective and timely patient care. She is experienced in managing all aspects of Rheumatic Diseases, including Young Adult healthcare and rheumatic diseases in pregnancy. She was voted a Finalist in the ‘Doctor Clinical Excellence’ category at the Mater People Awards 2025.
Dr Cummins is passionate about the training of junior doctors and physician trainees. She is actively involved in teaching and has been an Examiner for the RACP Divisional Clinical Examination since 2017.
Dr Cummins is Vice President of Australian Rheumatology Association Qld and was co-convenor of the ARA’s National Annual Scientific Meeting 2026.
Outside of work, she enjoys spending time with her husband and two children.
Qualifications & Memberships
- Completed Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery at JCU 2005 (University Medal; Hons Class I)
- Completed Rheumatology Advanced Training at Qld hospitals including Townsville University Hospital, The Princess Alexandra Hospital, The Royal Brisbane Hospital and Greenslopes Private Hospital.
